Tommy Lee Mathis Jr. “Bojack”

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tommy Lee Mathis Jr., affectionately known to many as "Bojack," who departed this world on August 28, 2026. Born on November 3, 1958, in Albany, Georgia, Bojack was the beloved son of Rosa Lee Jackson and Tommy Lee Mathis, Sr. His journey through life was one of warmth, love, laughter, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know him. Bojack was a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Stephanie Mathis. Their lives were intertwined with love, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to family. Together, they built a life filled with memories and experiences that their children, Margaret and her husband Jermain, and Sonya and her husband Robert, will forever treasure. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and his love extended to his eight grandchildren: Reginald, Juwannis, Eliz, Asia, Jaroyius, Alandria, Brittany, and Denevia, and his four great-grandchildren: Vintavious, Harmony, Camille, and Riley, who brought him immense joy and fulfillment. A man of many talents, Bojack was known for his natural mechanical abilities and his hardworking nature. He proudly earned his GED diploma, a testament to his dedication and perseverance. For 48 years, he honed his skills as a mechanic, becoming a respected figure in his trade and a role model for those who followed in his footsteps. Beyond his professional life, Bojack was a proud member of the Masonic brotherhood, where he embodied the values of fellowship, service, and community. His involvement in the Masonic brotherhood was a testament to his character and the meaningful relationships he cultivated throughout his life. Bojack had a deep love for the outdoors, finding solace and joy in hunting and fishing. These moments of peace in nature were among his most cherished pastimes. His playful sense of humor, knack for giving funny nicknames, and ability to bring laughter into any room will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was a man of warmth and kindness, with a strong-willed spirit and a heart full of love for his family, friends, and his loyal dog, Zeus. His memory will be carried on by his surviving brothers and sisters, Jessie, Marcus, Timothy, Sonya, and Valerie, and a host of nieces and nephews, the countless friends and loved ones he leaves behind. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his life be celebrated for the love and joy he brought to so many.
