With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tommie Mae Meadows, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, on July 22, 2026. Born on February 11, 1951, in Huntsville, Alabama, she brought warmth and joy to all who knew her throughout her 75 years of life.
Tommie was the cherished daughter of Elizabeth Franklin and Thomas Franklin, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her brother, Jodie. She is survived by her devoted husband, Sam Meadows, with whom she shared a loving marriage since November 2. Their union was blessed with three children: Marcus, Chinda, and Malcolm, who will forever cherish the memories of their mother’s love and guidance. Tommie's sister Wanda, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, will continue to carry her spirit forward.
A dedicated educator, Tommie worked tirelessly in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Her commitment to her students and her passion for education left a lasting impact on countless young lives. Alongside her professional endeavors, Tommie was a proud member of Nottingham Baptist Church, where she found fellowship and spiritual fulfillment.
Tommie had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcomed, a quality that endeared her to many. Her love for fishing was matched only by her love for family gatherings, where her laughter and warmth created unforgettable memories. Tommie's zest for life and her ability to have a good time were infectious, bringing joy to all those around her.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Tommie Mae Meadows will be held on July 31, 2026, at 11:30 PM at Cummings and Davis, located at 13201 Euclid Ave. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown support during this difficult time. "We thank everyone for coming out; we appreciate y'all and love y'all," they shared.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tommie's memory to a charity of your choice, honoring her lifelong dedication to helping others.
