It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tommie Mae Meadows, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on July 22, 2026. Born on February 11, 1951, in Huntsville, Alabama, Tommie was the cherished daughter of Elizabeth and Thomas Franklin and was raised in a household filled with love and strong community values.
Tommie was blessed with a fulfilling life that was rich with family, faith, and service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Thomas Franklin, and her brother Jodie. Her memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Sam Meadows, with whom she shared a devoted marriage since November 2. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Marcus (Angela) and Chinda (Derrick), along with her adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of family friends who were touched by her kindness and generous spirit.
Tommie's career was spent dedicating herself to the education and nurturing of young minds within the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. She was not only an educator but a mentor and guiding light to many, instilling in her students the values of hard work and compassion.
A devoted member of Nottingham Baptist Church, Tommie found joy and solace in her faith, and she was often seen volunteering her time to church activities and community outreach programs. Her love for fishing and being surrounded by family and loved ones were her cherished pastimes, and she was never happier than when hosting gatherings filled with laughter and love.
A service to celebrate Tommie's life will be held on July 31, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Cummings and Davis, located at 13200 Euclid. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and honoring Tommie's incredible life and the profound impact she had on everyone she met.
