It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Tom Rinks, who left this world peacefully on April 19, 2026, at the age of 85. Tom was born on August 15, 1940, in Savannah, Tennessee, and was lovingly raised in Pensacola, Florida, by his parents, Eugene and Ruby Rinks, who preceded him in death.
Tom's journey through life was marked by dedication, love, and laughter. He was a proud alumnus of the University of West Florida in Pensacola, where he earned a degree in computer science—a field that would shape his professional life. Serving his country with honor, Tom was a committed member of the United States Air Force, demonstrating the same steadfastness and integrity that he carried with him throughout his life.
A talented systems analyst, Tom enjoyed a successful career with Westinghouse and Martin Marietta. It was at Martin Marietta in Orlando, Florida, where he met the love of his life, Pam Evans. The couple married on September 5, 1986, marking the beginning of a nearly 40-year partnership filled with love, mutual respect, and shared adventures. Together, Tom and Pam transitioned into a fulfilling career as systems analyst contractors before retiring in 2000, a time they cherished as an opportunity to fully embrace their shared passions.
Tom was an avid golfer, reveling in both the sport and the camaraderie it fostered. His love for the game was matched by his enthusiasm for gatherings with friends at Kings Ridge, where he and Pam were active members of the Wine Club. Tom's quick wit and infectious sense of humor endeared him to friends and family alike, making him the life of any gathering. He relished a good joke and the simple pleasure of sharing a beer with friends.
A man with a deep affection for animals, Tom was especially fond of his beloved dogs, T.J. and Fred, who brought him immense joy and companionship over the years. His gentle nature and kindness extended to all creatures, reflecting a heart full of warmth and empathy.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Pam, whose love and support were the foundation of his life. Together, they crafted a rich tapestry of memories that will be cherished forever. While his parents, Eugene and Ruby, have passed on, their legacy lives on in the values and love they instilled in Tom.
In accordance with his wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Tom's life and legacy. His family invites those who knew him to celebrate his life by raising a glass, sharing a laugh, and remembering the joy he brought to the world.
Tom Rinks will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. His legacy of love, humor, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace, knowing he was greatly loved.
