Toby Max Welliver

Toby Max Welliver, born on April 22, 1971, in Farmington, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026. His life was a tapestry woven with the threads of love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that life had to offer. While his journey in life was marked by many challenges, he passed away knowing he was deeply loved by his family, and that love remained with him until the very end. Toby was the beloved son of the late Marlene (Oelkers) Welliver and Gerald “Jerry” Welliver, and the cherished brother of the late Danny Charles Myers. Despite these profound losses, Toby found strength and solace in the family he adored. He is survived by his children, Trey Kuehl, Payton Welliver, Alyssa Welliver (Fillipi), Drake Welliver, and Cyrus Welliver, who were the light of his life and the source of his greatest pride. His legacy continues through his treasured grandchildren, who will grow up hearing stories of their grandfather’s humor and adventurous spirit. Toby shared a special bond with his siblings, brother Tim Myers and wife DeAnne, brother Dudley Myers and wife Linda, and sister Jodi Welliver. His sister-in-law, Julie Myers, and the extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent in their company. After graduating from Lexington High School in 1989, Toby served his country with honor in the National Guard in 1991. His career as a project manager in the welding and industrial businesses was marked by dedication and a strong work ethic, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Toby’s adventurous spirit was evident in his love for the outdoors and his passion for travel. He had an uncanny ability to find joy in the world around him, whether through listening to his favorite music or embarking on a new adventure. His ornery sense of humor and quick wit were his trademarks, delighting those around him and often leaving them in fits of laughter. Above all, Toby will be remembered for his caring heart. He had a unique way of showing his love, often through humor and unexpected gestures, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His presence was a gift, and those fortunate enough to know him will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. As we celebrate Toby’s life, we hold onto the lessons he taught us: to embrace life’s adventures, to laugh often, and to love deeply. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Toby's memory to a charity of choice, honoring his legacy of love and laughter.
