It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tina (cook) VanValkenburg, who departed this world on September 16, 2026, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. Born on November 16, 1968, in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Tina was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her.
Tina was the cherished daughter of John Cook Sr. and Marguerite (Thompson) Cook, both of whom preceded her in death. She is also reunited with her beloved spouse, Kerry Bryan, and her brothers, Rick and David Cook. The legacy of her kindness and love continues through her surviving family members: her devoted children, Cayla Cook and Perry Cook, and her stepson, Patrick Edwards. Tina leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Alashka, Cayleb, Killian, Kayden, and Kieran, who were her greatest joy. She is also survived by her brother, John, and sister, Emmy, who will continue to carry the memory of her gentle spirit.
Tina's life was a tapestry of simple pleasures and profound love. She had a big heart that touched everyone she met. Her days were filled with the laughter and joy of family and friends, and she found immense happiness in their company. Tina had a special affection for her animals, who were more than pets to her—they were family. Her love for gaming was well known, especially her fondness for playing Xbox, where she spent countless hours enjoying Minecraft and Uno. Music was a constant companion to Tina, with Christian and old country tunes holding a special place in her heart.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, for their exceptional care and to Brandon Sheffield and Charlotte Davies for support during Tina's final days. Their compassion brought comfort to Tina and her family, reminding them of the humanity that binds us all.
Tina VanValkenburg will be remembered not only for the warmth and kindness she bestowed upon her family and friends but also for the joy she found in the everyday moments of life.
