In Loving Memory

Tina Evans
April 1, 1950 — April 20, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Tina Evans, who left this world on April 20, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, which she faced with grace and resilience. Born on April 1, 1950, in Milwaukee, Tina's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and unyielding determination.
Tina was the cherished daughter of Mary Evans and John Miller. She spent her formative years in Milwaukee, a city that nurtured her vibrant spirit and set the stage for a life filled with purpose and compassion. With a quick wit and a warm smile, Tina lit up every room she entered, her presence a balm to those fortunate enough to know her.
For 30 years, Tina dedicated her professional talents to teaching/mentoring young kids at Lafayette elementary where she worked as a teacher until her retirement in 2000. Her career was marked by innovation and leadership, Tina was passionate about mentoring young kids guiding them with the same gentle encouragement she offered to all aspects of her life.
Outside her professional endeavors, Tina was a pillar of her community. As an active member of the Madison Baptist Church for over 15 years, she exemplified faith and service. Her commitment extended to the second harvest where she served as volunteer and devoted herself to volunteering for 15 years. Tina's sense of duty and care for others was ever-present.
Tina's legacy is carried on by her loving family: her brother Larry Smith, her sister Pamela Gray, her children Montrel Evans-Miller, Richard Evans-Miller, and Shelby Evans-Miller, and her cherished grandchildren Montrel Evans-Miller Jr., Sheari Evans-Miller, and Lamont Evans. Though she had no great-grandchildren, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Tina's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness.
In keeping with Tina's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held for family and close friends. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at UW Hospital for their compassionate care during her final days. "Forever in our hearts," Tina will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the joy she brought to our lives.
As we bid farewell to Tina, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart that loved deeply, and a spirit that inspired us all. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love and laughter will continue to shine, reminding us that true kindness is the most enduring gift of all.
