Timothy Daniels

August 21, 1955 — August 31, 2026

Timothy Daniels, a beloved father, brother, and educator, transitioned peacefully on August 31, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 21, 1955, in Charleston, SC, Timothy was the cherished son of the late Melvin and Deborah Daniels and the brother of the late David Daniels. He is survived by his children, Timothy Daniels Jr. and Brittany Daniels Smith, who alongside Brittany's husband Aaron, continue to carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. Timothy's journey through life was marked by his commitment to education and community. A proud graduate of William M. Raines, he pursued higher education at Florida A&M University (FAMU), where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Education. His passion for teaching led him to a fulfilling 35-year career with the Duval County School Board. Even after retirement, his dedication to nurturing young minds inspired him to return as a substitute teacher until his health no longer allowed. Timothy was a man of many talents and interests. He was known for his quick and warm smile, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood and a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. Whether he was teaching, traveling, or indulging in his love for cooking and eating, Timothy brought joy and laughter to those around him. Family meant everything to Timothy. He is survived by his sister Rhonda Daniels and her husband William, as well as his brother David Daniels and his wife Sara. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives who cherished his presence in their lives. A service to honor Timothy's life will be held on September 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater New Mt. Moriah, located at 1953 W. 13th St. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and love during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Timothy's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. The Daniels family would like to express their deepest thanks and appreciation to everyone for their support and kindness. They promise to extend their gratitude personally to all, in due time. Timothy's legacy of warmth, humor, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
