Tim Wilkinson

Timothy Wilkinson, born on December 2, 1953, in Lansing, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on January 20, 2026. Tim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Tim was the cherished son of the late William and Doris (Price) Wilkinson and the older brother of the late Scott Wilkinson. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his devoted wife of 28 years, Monica, whom he married on March 10, 1998, during a beautiful ceremony in Maui, Hawaii. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and dedication to their family. Tim's pride and joy were his children: Inge Klein (Freddie), Erika Crosby (Ryan), Trevor Wilkinson (Heather), Emma Wilkinson, and Corey Wilkinson. He was a doting grandfather to four grandchildren, Waylon and Wesley Klein and Eliana and Grayson Wilkinson. Tim also shared a special bond with his brother, Bruce (Julie) and their children, Robbie and Matt, as well as his niece, Sarah Wilkinson. Tim loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and would change his plans in a moments notice to attend family events. Growing up on a farm, Tim developed a lifelong interest in agriculture. Tim spent many years in the 4-H program showing registered Angus breeding stock and steers at the Shiawassee County Fair. He enjoyed meeting and becoming friends with many of the other 4-H kids. After the Fair was complete, Tim relished the week long camping and fishing trips with his parents and brothers in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Tim graduated from Morris High School in 1972 before pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Crop and Soil Science at Michigan State University. Tim's career began in sales and agriculture, where he thrived as an Agriculture Field Rep for Heinz USA. However, his calling was in teaching. His passion for education led him to further his studies, earning a Master of Education Degree from Aquinas College. He taught junior high school at Central Montcalm Public Schools in Stanton, Michigan, for 20 years until his retirement. During his summers off from teaching, he worked as an agricultural consultant for Agribusiness Consultants, Inc. After retirement, he continued to share his expertise as an agricultural consultant for Rural Ventures LLC and contributed as a member of the Mobility Team at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. Tim's life was a tapestry of interests and passions. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace in hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. His adventurous spirit led him to explore the Lewis and Clark Trail, and he cherished biking and hiking through nature's beauty. Tim's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for his family and friends. He was the person who would drop everything to help others, and his presence at family events was a constant source of joy and laughter. His life was a testament to the values of love, compassion, and dedication. In honor of Tim's memory, the family will hold a Celebration of Life on August 1, 2026 from 12 noon until 3:00 pm at Bostwick Lake UCC, 7979 Belding Road, Rockford, MI. Tim's life was a beacon of light, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
