December 21, 1957 — April 7, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tim W. Gangwer, age 68, who left us peacefully at his home on April 7, 2026. Born on December 21, 1957, in Fostoria, Ohio, Tim's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and an unwavering love for family and community. Tim was the beloved son of the late Clarence William "Bill" and Emma Agnes (Hill) Gangwer, who instilled in him the values of integrity and commitment that he carried throughout his life. A proud graduate of Lakota High School's Class of 1976 and Vanguard Vocational and Technology Center, Tim was a man of many talents and an indomitable work ethic. For many years, Tim served as a Machine Repairman at Chrysler, where he was respected for his skill and diligence. His passion for machines extended beyond his professional life, as he spent countless hours tinkering in his barn, fixing everything he could get his hands on. Tim's love for farming, a legacy from his family's roots, was a significant part of his life. He found peace and satisfaction in the fields, always planning for the future with an eye toward the land he cherished. Tim was a compassionate soul who gave generously to charities and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His heart was as expansive as the Ohio skies he loved, and he left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his loving children, Lindsay Gangwer, Chaunce Gangwer, and Andrew LaMarche; his cherished grandchildren, Jayden Durain and Madisyn Wickard, who brought immense joy and pride to his life; and a community of friends who were like family. Tim's legacy of kindness, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. In his earlier days, Tim enjoyed the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle, and he treasured the moments spent with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. His family fondly remembers his laughter, wisdom, and the warmth of his presence, which will be dearly missed by many. A celebration of Tim's life will be held on April 17, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Barndt Funeral Home, located at 121 W. South St. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember a man whose life was a beacon of love and service. In this time of grief, the family takes comfort in knowing that Tim's spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched. They would like to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and invite all who knew Tim to join them as they celebrate his remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice, in honor of Tim's generous spirit. Tim W. Gangwer's legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him, and his memory will be a guiding light as we navigate the days ahead without him.
