April 10, 1950 — April 13, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tim Sims, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on April 13, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on April 10, 1950, in the charming city of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Tim was a beacon of warmth and resilience to all who knew him. His sudden departure due to a heart attack has left a void that can never be filled, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
Tim was the cherished son of Miya and Jerrod Sims, who preceded him in death, along with his devoted wife, Courtney Sims. Despite these profound losses, Tim continued to embody strength and grace, qualities instilled in him by his parents and nurtured through a life filled with love and dedication.
A proud graduate of Bowling Green High School, Tim embarked on a life of service and skill by joining the Air Force, where he served diligently for four years as a mechanic working on planes. His time in the Air Force ignited a lifelong passion for mechanics, which he pursued further in his career. Tim spent 30 years as a mechanical engineer with Delta and Southwest Airlines, where his expertise and commitment left an indelible mark on both his colleagues and the industry.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tim was a man of simple joys. He found immense pleasure in the gentle art of fishing and the thrill of NASCAR racing, hobbies he eagerly shared with family and friends. These passions were a testament to his appreciation for life's quiet moments and exhilarating experiences alike.
Tim's legacy lives on through his loving family: his daughters, Kayla Sims and Jessica Adams, and his grandchildren, Trevon Adams and Katy Sims, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Crystal Adams, who was not only his sibling but a lifelong confidante and companion.
The family has chosen to honor Tim's life with a private funeral ceremony, a reflection of the intimate and personal connections he cherished throughout his life. While we will not gather publicly, we invite those who knew him to remember Tim in their own special ways, keeping his spirit alive in their hearts.
In this time of mourning, we take comfort in the special message from his family: "Forever in our hearts." Tim Sims, your laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, knowing you have left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing you.
