Tierza was the cherished daughter of Doris Bolick Cannon and the late Carl U. Cannon. Her family was her foundation, and she carried her father's spirit within her throughout her life. Despite her lifelong battle with multiple sclerosis, Tierza's courage and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her indomitable spirit was a beacon of hope and strength, demonstrating that life's challenges could be met with grace and dignity. A proud graduate of South Caldwell High School, Tierza's pursuit of knowledge and personal growth was evident in her career. During her working years, she served as a municipal water operator, where her diligent work ensured that the community had access to clean, safe water. Later, she shared her talents as a bookkeeper for local radio stations, bringing her organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail to the airwaves. Tierza's love for life extended beyond her professional pursuits. She was an active member of the Hickory Elks Lodge, where she found camaraderie and a sense of community. Her hobbies and interests reflected her gentle and nurturing spirit; she had a profound love for all animals, particularly the many cats she raised and cared for over the years. Her home was always filled with the warmth and comfort of her feline companions, each of whom was a recipient of her boundless affection. In honor of her deep love for animals, Tierza's family kindly requests that donations be made to the Catawba County Humane Society, ensuring that her legacy of kindness and care for all creatures continues to touch lives. Tierza is survived by her devoted mother, Doris Bolick Cannon, who stood by her side with unwavering love and support. Although Tierza has left this earthly realm, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, strength, and love.
