In Loving Memory

Tiera Diamond Grimes
December 31, 2010 — July 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Tiera Grimes, who departed this world far too soon on July 7, 2026. Born on December 31, 2010, in Raleigh, Tiera brought immense joy and light into the lives of her family and friends during her precious 15 years with us.
Tiera was the cherished daughter of the late Latoya Grimes and Travis Tanner, who lovingly raised her with unwavering devotion. She was predeceased by her adoring grandparents, Patricia and Vernon Grimes, her Aunt Camisha Grimes, and uncles Derrick and Junior Grimes, who now welcome her with open arms. Tiera also joins her beloved siblings, Trisha, Nazaiah, and Zahques Grimes, in eternal peace.
A student at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, Tiera was a proud member of the Class of 2029. Her teachers and classmates fondly remember her as a bright and enthusiastic learner, always eager to explore the world around her with curiosity and zest. Tiera's artistic spirit shone through her love of drawing; she delighted in sharing her creations with those around her, capturing the beauty she saw in life with every stroke of her pencil.
Baking was another of Tiera's passions, a skill she lovingly honed alongside her cherished grandmother. Their time together in the kitchen was filled with laughter and sweet memories, and Tiera's creations were as delightful as her warm, infectious smile. Her laughter was a melody that lifted spirits and her kindness a balm to those fortunate enough to know her.
Tiera's life, though brief, was a testament to the impact of a kind heart and a joyful spirit. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, and her presence was a comforting light in any room. Those who knew her were touched by her genuine warmth and the love she freely gave.
As we say goodbye to our beautiful Tiera, we hold dear the memories of her laughter, her art, and her love. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and joy that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Tiera's life will be held at a later date, to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tiera's memory to a charity that supports arts education, ensuring that her love of creativity continues to inspire future generations.
Rest in peace, dear Tiera. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
