It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thurman Linwood Lynn, affectionately known as "Skip" and professionally as Bob Freeman. He passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in Richmond, Virginia, on April 17, 1944, Thurman was the son of the late Wiley Thurman Lynn and Rosa Ethel Marlow Lynn. He is survived by his children, including Stacey Lynn, Brett Lynn and Adreane Lynn (children: Preston, Bella, and Kellan); his grandchildren; his sister, Gerri Lynn; his nieces and nephew: Thomas Pridgen (wife, Andi; children: Bailey, Mishue, and Trevor), Donna Pridgen (children: Jonathan Aric Ward and Sydney Cox [husband, Berry; children: Alana and Moon]), and Amy Simmons (husband, David; children: Brandi, Robyn, Sarah, Tate, Keller, Ensley, and Aric); and his father's second wife, Patricia Harrelson Lynn. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wiley Thurman Lynn Jr.; his niece, Joyce Pridgen; and his nephew, Dwight Pridgen. A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Thurman built a distinguished career as photographer Bob Freeman. As the official event photographer for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, he became renowned for documenting Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremonies, Grauman's Chinese Theatre handprint ceremonies, the Academy Awards, and countless film premieres. For more than 30 years, he captured Hollywood's most memorable moments through his lens. His work continues to be featured in a dedicated exhibit at the Hollywood Museum. Thurman was laid to rest at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, California. His ashes rest in the Rose Garden, and his memory is honored with a plaque on the Memorial Wall.
