March 7, 1960 – May 6, 2026
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Thomas Ortiz Aguilar, who left this world peacefully at home on May 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. He was 66 years old. Born in Pearsall, Texas, on March 7, 1960, Thomas lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication, leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew him.
Thomas was the beloved son of the late Jose and Marcelina Aguilar. He is predeceased by his parents and six siblings, leaving a legacy deeply rooted in familial love and resilience. On June 2, 1979, Thomas married the love of his life, Sandra Dee. Their 47-year union was blessed with four wonderful children: daughters Andrea, Natalie, and Jacqueline, and son Thomas Jr. Their family grew to include 12 grandchildren—Sofia, Andrea, Monique, Raquel, Desiree, Sandi, Aidan, Breña, Quentin, Nicky, Adam, and Luci—and eight great-grandchildren, DJ, Zayn, Alex, Hylia, Zelda, Leo, Leilani, and Noctis, who brought immense joy to his life.
Thomas began his career as a tire service technician and, through hard work and dedication, rose to become a respected salesman. His colleagues admired him for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment. However, his true passion lay with his family and friends. Known for his silly sense of humor, Thomas was always ready with a joke or a playful remark. When asked about his whereabouts, he'd often quip that he was headed to "Mexico City," a line that never failed to bring a smile.
A man of simple pleasures, Thomas found joy in weekend barbeques, fishing trips, and cooking for loved ones. His home was a sanctuary of laughter and warmth, a place where everyone felt welcome. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Thomas is survived by his devoted wife Sandra, his children and their partners, including son-in-law Robert Flower, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. His absence leaves a void in our hearts, but his spirit will be eternally remembered by those who loved him.
A service to celebrate Thomas's life will be held on June 12, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. Mary's Church (Kavanaugh Center), located at 5905 Franklin Blvd. We invite family and friends to join us in honoring his remarkable life and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity close to Thomas's heart, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others.
As we say goodbye, we hold onto a special message from his family: "Dad, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure."
