Thomas Edward Carter

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Thomas Edward Carter, affectionately known as "TC," who left us peacefully on June 15, 2026. Born on September 24, 1950, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Thomas was the beloved son of Lucile and Edward James Carter. Thomas was a man of many stories, a warm smile, and endless laughter. He was predeceased by his cherished parents, his beloved daughter Sonya Whitmore-Carter, and his precious granddaughter Abigail Phillips. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Carter, whom he married on April 12, 2013, and his devoted family, including his aunt Elizabeth Stevens, his sisters Davine and Ivery Carter, and his five children. His daughter, Elizabeth Gilmore-Carter, along with granddaughters LaBresha and LaVincia Gilmore, and his sons — Shawn Carter with grandchildren Shawn Carter Jr., Dalin, and Savannah; Thomas Carter with grandchildren Thomas Jr., Tamar, Tanasia, and Ebony; and Ramone Carter with granddaughters Raven, Kayla, Rylee, Rimi, Karlie, and grandsons Ramon, Rodney, Marley, Tremaine, and Roderick — carry on his legacy. Thomas was also blessed with 27 great-grandchildren and a vast circle of friends and extended family who will forever cherish his memory. A proud veteran, Thomas served his country with honor in the U.S. Airforce. Following his service, he dedicated over a decade of his life working as a truck driver, a profession he approached with pride and diligence. His work was more than just a job; it was a testament to his unwavering commitment and dedication. Thomas was an active member of Calvary Chapel Rialto, where his faith in the Lord was evident in his every action. His joy for life was contagious; he was known for dancing and singing the night away, only to rise with the sun, ready to serve his community and his faith at 10 a.m. sharp. His home was a sanctuary of warmth and acceptance, a place where his infectious smile lit up the room and where no moment was ever dull. Thomas’s life was a rich tapestry woven with stories and lessons shared generously with those around him. He embraced everyone with open arms, teaching us the importance of living fully and loving unconditionally. His wisdom and joy left a lasting impact, providing memories that his family will treasure for eternity. A service to celebrate Thomas’s remarkable life will be held on July 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Preciado Funeral Home, located at 923 W. Mill Street, San Bernardino, California. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association, reflecting Thomas's enduring spirit of giving. As his family lovingly shares, "Even though we may miss you forever, we have memories that’ll last us a lifetime, and for that, we thank you. In a minute! We Love You." Thomas Edward Carter will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him.
