Thomas Eddie Breeden Sr.

In loving memory of Thomas Eddie Breeden Sr., who departed this world peacefully on September 12, 2026. Born on November 20, 1940, in Lacoochee, Florida, Thomas was the beloved son of Reba I. Stephens (Breeden) and Aaron E. Breeden. He now joins them, along with his son Matthew Breeden, his sister Betty Boyett, and his niece Pam Boyett in eternal rest. Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Maxine Swartzlander (Breeden). Their love story began in the heart of Lacoochee, Florida, where they exchanged vows on June 12, 1965, in the First Baptist Church. Together, they built a beautiful family, blessed with three children. Thomas is survived by; His wife, Maxine Swartzlander Breeden. His children Mechelle (Jon) Hult, and Thomas Breeden Jr. His grandchildren Erika Hult, Austen Hult, Madison (Josh) Locklear, Grayson Breeden, Garrett Breeden, and Brianna Parker. Along with great-grandchildren Harper Bowers, Jonathon Locklear, and Ryker Locklear, who will all forever cherish his memory. Thomas also leaves behind his brothers, Larry and Gary Breeden, and a multitude of extended family and friends who were touched by his gentle spirit and unwavering kindness. A proud veteran, Thomas served his country with honor in the United States Army, stationed in Germany as a mail carrier and a boxer. His military service was a cornerstone of his life, instilling in him a deep sense of pride and dedication. Following his military career, Thomas served as the Post Master at the Crossville, TN Post Office until his retirement, where his leadership and integrity left an indelible mark. Thomas had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for watching old western movies, target practice, and enjoyed many peaceful days on the golf course. If you knew Tom, you knew that another passion of his was some good old southern cooking. A clean plate to Tom, was a happy plate. Tom had a way of making people feel safe, loved, and cared for simply by being himself. His heart was pure, his love was steady, and his presence alone brought comfort to anyone around him. He never had to be loud to make an impact. His gentleness spoke volumes. The way he loved, the way cared, and the goodness he carried in him made him truly special. He was the kind of person who made the world feel a little softer and a lot more beautiful. A service to celebrate Thomas's life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Guntersville Memorial Chapel, located at 1601 Henry Street, Guntersville, AL 35976. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the life of a truly remarkable man whose legacy of love and kindness will be remembered forever. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Thomas's memory. His life was a testament to the power of compassion, and his spirit will continue to inspire us all.
