It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for his life that we announce the passing of Thomas Carl Holt, known to those who cherished him as Tom. Born on July 21, 1959, in Bellevue, WA, Tom departed this life on April 12, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. His journey was marked by love, dedication, and an indomitable spirit that touched all who knew him.
Tom was the beloved son of Patricia Holt and the late Irvin Holt. He grew up in Bellevue, where he graduated from Newport High School in 1977, laying the foundation for a life characterized by service, passion, and unyielding commitment.
Following high school, Tom embarked on a proud chapter of service in the United States Navy. He worked diligently in the engine room of the USS Fletcher, a destroyer that embodied the resilience and strength that Tom carried throughout his life. Upon concluding his military service, Tom transitioned into a successful career as an electrical contractor, establishing Commercial Entry Systems. As the owner, his leadership and expertise left a lasting impact on the industry and his community.
On October 14, 2005, Tom married the love of his life, Jeannie Marie Holt. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and a shared commitment to family and friends. Tom is survived by Jeannie, his devoted wife, their children, son Michael Ray Stixrud and daughter Rebecca Peterson, and his brothers, Randy Holt and Steven Holt. He was also the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by his stories, wisdom, and boundless affection.
Tom's affection extended beyond his family to his loyal canine companions, Teddy and Lulu, who were always by his side, providing comfort and joy, particularly during challenging times.
A man of varied interests, Tom was an active member of the Black Diamond Gun Club, where he served as the Range Safety Officer, and the Rattlesnake Shooting Facility in Richland, WA. His passion for shooting sports was matched only by his love for classic cars. Tom's pride and joy was a 1969 Mach1 Mustang, which he painstakingly rebuilt, a testament to his patience and meticulous nature.
Tom was a friend to many, known for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. His friendships with Mike Hicks and John Elliott, affectionately known as MoonPie, were a source of joy and camaraderie, filled with shared adventures and cherished memories.
Throughout his life, Tom was a beacon of light and strength to those around him. His legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him, embodying the virtues of kindness, determination, and love. As we bid farewell to Tom, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life that will forever be remembered with affection and respect.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share in the stories that defined his remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tom's name to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and compassion.
