Thomas Alvin Farnsworth II, a beloved husband, father, and cherished friend, passed away on September 23, 2026 surrounded by his family in the comfort of his own home. He was born on August 24, 1948, in Mesa, Arizona, to his parents Thomas Alvin Farnsworth Sr and Leora Coons Farnsworth. Tom lived a life enriched with love, dedication, and service. He was predeceased by his parents and his son, Beau Alvin Farnsworth. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Heather Lorraine Beach Farnsworth, whom he married on March 25, 1991. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, and Tom cherished Heather more than anything else in his life. His legacy lives on through his children: Justine Janell Farnsworth Eichenmiller, Terilee Farnsworth Floyd, Thomas Alvin Farnsworth III, Chet Alvin Farnsworth, Kristy Lynn Farnsworth Gardner, Landon Alvin Farnsworth, and Lorraine Farnsworth Poulsen. He also leaves behind 19 adoring grandchildren. A bright and accomplished student, Tom graduated with honors and held leadership roles as the FFA president, band president, and school president. He was a talented athlete, excelling in both football and wrestling. At a young age, Tom answered the call to serve his country, bravely participating in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970 as a ranger, he was the commanding officer of his class, distinguishing himself as the top graduate among 500 participants with only 146 graduates. Despite being offered two Purple Hearts, Tom humbly declined them, believing others were more deserving. Tom's career was deeply rooted in his family's traditions. He began setting tile with his father at a young age and later established a successful flooring business with his son, carrying on the family legacy. Farming was another lifelong passion for Tom. He farmed extensively, including the Benson Golf Course and much of Pomerene, and diligently worked the Kartchner land for over 30 years. His love for the land was instilled in his sons, who continue the family tradition. Tom was a dedicated community member and took immense pride in teaching Boy Scouts for decades. He also served as commander for six years at VFW Post 6271 and was part of the honor guard. His generosity and willingness to help others were well-known, and his caring spirit and selflessness touched countless lives. Above all, Tom's greatest joy was his family. He treasured every moment spent with them, whether it was hunting, camping, or simply being together. He was a pillar of support and wisdom, always encouraging his children and imparting life lessons with his trademark saying, "Say what you mean and mean what you say." A private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate the life of this remarkable man, whose love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him.
