THOMAS ALLEN MOON OBITUARY Thomas Allen Moon, passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 79. At his death he was a devoted brother, a loving, supportive uncle and a kind, big hearted, loyal friend to many. Thomas, more commonly referred to as Tom or Tommy, was born January 13, 1947, in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was the first of three children born to Arthur Thomas & Leona Marie Moon. He would be joined just a year later by a sister, Linda Marie and 8 yrs later by a brother, Michael Wayne. Tom proved to be a hard worker early on in life as the family moved to the western states he spent several of his early years helping the family make ends meet by picking cotton, potatoes in California and then strawberries, raspberries, green beans in Oregon. As it turned out, that early work ethic served him well because when he had finished just 2 terms of college his father had a debilitating heart attack and Tom quit school to get a job at the GP Paper Mill to support the family. He soon became a Journeyman Mason at the mill and retired, as such, nearly 40 yrs later. Tom was quiet and somewhat shy, but those who took the time to get to know him found him to be a kind soul who showed his love through his actions. He took care of those he loved with unwavering devotion and stood firmly by his beliefs, even when doing so was difficult or unpopular. His strength, integrity, and quiet compassion left a lasting impression on those around him.
