October 31, 1953 — September 24, 2026

In loving memory of Thomas Albano, who passed away peacefully at his home in Rochester, NY, on September 24, 2026, after a brave fight with cancer. Born on October 31, 1953, in Rochester, Thomas was the beloved son of the late John P. Albano and Rosalia A. Albano. He was predeceased by his parents and his cherished son, Thomas S. Albano. Thomas leaves behind his devoted wife, Corynda Clark-Albano, whom he married on March 1, 2010, in a quaint chapel in Reno, Nevada—a testament to their unique and lasting partnership. He is survived by his loving children, Nicholas Albano and his wife Sarah, and Jessica English and her husband Josh Kline. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas, Rocco, and Isabel, who brought immense joy to his life. Thomas is also survived by his dear siblings, Nancy Welch and her husband John, Carol Albano, and John Albano, all of whom will miss him dearly. A distinguished graduate of Jefferson High School, Class of '71, Thomas pursued his passion for engineering, earning a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from RIT. His career was marked by significant achievements, including a 25-year Distinguished Service Award from the ESD Association and eight USPTO patents developed during his tenure at Kodak. Thomas also served with distinction at Exelis Geospatial Systems, ITT Space Systems, and retired as an Aerospace Engineer from Harris L3 Aerospace. His expertise contributed to top-secret projects with NASA, NOAA, and the Department of Defense, and he was a principal subject matter expert for renowned endeavors such as the Hubble, Chandra, James Webb, and Roman Space telescopes, as well as the GOES weather satellites. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Thomas was a dedicated peace officer for the Town of Ogden, achieving the rank of Sergeant and certification from the International Police Mountain Bike Association. He served proudly on the board of the Churchville Chili School District and was an active member of several organizations, including the Chili Republican Party, ITALEO, ARPALER, Italian American Sports Club, and Gaeta Society. Thomas was known for his kind and generous spirit, his strong will and stubbornness, and a dry sense of humor that was often showcased through his beloved "old man jokes." He touched the lives of many, and his presence will be missed by all who knew him. A lover of life, Thomas enjoyed body building, riding his Harley Davidson, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. A service to honor Thomas's life will be held on October 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc, located at 219 Spencerport Road, Rochester, NY 14606. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Wilmont Cancer Center in recognition of the compassionate care provided by Dr. Daniel Mulkerin and his staff. The family wishes to share a special message, expressing gratitude for the love and support received during this difficult time: "Don't cry for me. I will be okay. Heaven is my home now, and this is where I'll stay. Don't cry for me. I'm where I belong. I want you to be happy and try to stay strong. Don't cry for me. It was just my time, but I will see you someday on the other side. Don't cry for me. I am not alone. The angels are with me to welcome me home. Don't cry for me, for I have no fear. All my pain is gone, and Jesus took my tears. Don't cry for me. This is not the end. I'll be waiting here for you when we meet again." May Thomas's memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
