Theresa Cruz Navarro

December 29, 1947 — March 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness yet with immense gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Theresa "Terrie" Cruz Navarro. Born on December 29, 1947, in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas, Terrie's journey came to a peaceful close on March 30, 2026. Terrie was the beloved daughter of Ben and Germana (Jerry) Cruz, who undoubtedly instilled in her the vibrant spirit and warm-heartedness that touched everyone she met. Her presence was a beacon of positivity, her laughter an uplifting melody to all who had the fortune of hearing it. In her 59 years of marriage to her devoted husband, Manual Anthony Navarro, Terrie built a family founded on love, resilience, and joy. Together, they raised two cherished sons, Orlando (along with his wife Vanessa) and Gilbert Hernandez, who continue to honor her legacy through their own lives and families. Terrie's light shines brightly in her grandchildren—Cassie, Chelsea, Cheyenne, Armando, Syria, and Isey—and her four great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her sisters, Olga Hernandez and Anita Cruz, shared in her journey, providing sisterly bonds that were both unbreakable and cherished. For many years, Terrie pursued her passion as a cosmetologist, a career that allowed her to blend her artistic talents with her love for people. Her career was curtailed by arthritis, but Terrie's indomitable spirit drove her forward. She then found joy and purpose in helping her niece and her niece's friends with their homes, becoming not just a helping hand but a beloved figure in their lives. Despite the challenges she faced, Terrie continued to share her love for styling by volunteering her talents at her grandchildren's schools in the Del Valle school district. From kindergarten through high school, she was a familiar and cherished presence, offering her time and love without reservation. Whether babysitting her granddaughter or cheering from the sidelines at sports events, Terrie's dedication to her family and community was unwavering. Terrie was known for her impeccable style, a testament to her vibrant personality. Her love for "bling-bling" and rhinestones was legendary, and she adorned herself with outfits that were as radiant as her spirit. Whether it was a doctor's appointment at 8:00 in the morning or a ballgame at 8:00 at night, Terrie was always dressed to impress, complete with matching jewelry, shoes, and a purse—each piece sparkling with her trademark rhinestones. Her legacy is one of love, joy, and an unyielding zest for life. Those who were blessed to know her will remember not only her style but her generous spirit, her unwavering positivity, and her ability to light up any room she entered. As we say goodbye to Terrie, we hold dear the countless memories and the profound impact she made on our lives. She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, and a friend whose love knew no bounds. Her life was a testament to the beauty of giving and the power of love, and for that, we are eternally grateful. A celebration of Terrie's life will be held at a later date, where her family and friends will gather to honor the extraordinary woman she was and the beautiful life she lived. Until then, we carry her spirit in our hearts, a reminder of the joy she brought into this world.
