She was predeceased by her parents, as well as her dear siblings, Johnathan Peoples, Adam Peoples, Amanda Peoples, and her father, John Bones. Her legacy of love and laughter continues through her surviving family members: her devoted children, Shannon Sr., James, and Brittany, and her treasured grandchildren, Shannon Jr., Kevin, Lamar, and James. Theresa's journey began in Chicago, where she attended Marshall High School on the city's west side. It was here that she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to caring for others. For 30 years, Theresa worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), providing comfort and compassion to those in need. Her career was not just a job; it was a calling that reflected her kind and generous nature. To know Theresa was to be enveloped in warmth and joy. Her home was always filled with the delicious aroma of her cooking, and her love for dance made her the life of every party. Her infectious laughter and sweet spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Theresa was known for her generosity and was someone who would give you the clothes off her back without hesitation. Theresa's love for life extended to her hobbies and interests. She found immense joy in dancing, which she did with a grace and enthusiasm that inspired those around her. A celebration of Theresa's life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Smith & Carter Funeral Home.
