Theodore Joseph Riedinger, affectionately known as Ted, peacefully departed this world on April 25, 2026, at the age of 72, surrounded by his cherished family and closest friend. Born on December 7, 1953, in the vibrant city of Louisville, Kentucky, Ted was the beloved son of James P. Riedinger and Bertha Huesman. While he now reunites with his parents, his brother Bill, sister-in-law Deb, and nephew Teddy Riedinger in eternal rest, he leaves behind a legacy filled with love and cherished memories.
Ted's life was a tapestry woven with the love and laughter of his surviving family, including his dear daughter Heather and his treasured grandson Elliott, who was the light of his life. Ted's heart swelled with pride for his grandson, and his joy in being a grandfather was unparalleled.
A proud alumnus of Bishop David High School, Ted carried the values he learned there throughout his life. His career as a chemical operator at Dupont was marked by dedication and a strong work ethic, qualities that earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Ted remember him as a man defined by boundless kindness and a radiant spirit. A humble soul with a heart of gold, Ted lived a life that exemplified the power of a simple smile. He had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel like a lifelong friend. Whether lending a helping hand or offering a listening ear, Ted's warmth was unwavering, and his genuine care for others was a hallmark of his character.
Ted approached life with gentle humility, never seeking the spotlight yet always illuminating the lives of those around him. To know Ted was to truly know a 'good friend,' for his big heart knew no bounds. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and his legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering friendship.
In his leisure time, Ted found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, such as summers spent at the lake and attending exhilarating Louisville football games. These moments of joy reflected his appreciation for life's beauty and his zest for living.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Ted's life, in keeping with his family's wishes. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we hold close the memories of his laughter, love, and enduring friendship.
In the words of his family: "Tell ya what, I don't know what to tell ya" – a sentiment that captures the indescribable impact Ted had on all who knew him. Ted's presence will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love he gave so freely in life.
