Thelma Ray Dixon Brown

Thelma Ray Dixon Brown was born on November 3, 1944, in Tallassee, Alabama, Thelma was the sixth child of the late Elder Thomas and Savannah Ray. She was 81 years old. Thelma was a beacon of kindness and resilience, her life a testament to her enduring spirit and unwavering faith. Educated in the Macon County school system, she carried the values of hard work and compassion instilled in her from an early age throughout her life. Thelma was predeceased by her beloved parents, her devoted husbands, Motel Dixon and Rev. Oscar Brown, her cherished brothers, Thomas Jr., James, David, Calvin, Charles, and George Ray, and her dear grandson, Mardarius Dixon. Their memories remained forever etched in her heart. Thelma's legacy lives on through her devoted children: David Ray of Birmingham, AL, April, Audrey, and Motel Dixon Jr., all of Columbus, GA, Marthia Brown of Columbus, GA, and Cordelius and Cornelius Brown of Tuskegee, AL. Her sisters, Mary Sessions of Orlando, FL, Huldie (Elcanie) Page of Cleveland, OH, and Catherine Ford, Betty (Bill) Johnson, and Annette (Anthony) Pearsall, all of Tuskegee, AL, will also continue to honor her memory. Thelma was blessed with 14 grandchildren—Arnetra, Jayln Dixon, DeQuan Aldridge, Ashley, Mya, Alliaha, Awyanna, Virginia, Maquesha, Marquez, Marquintez, Makaylee, Brianna Dixon, and Marla Waerry—and 13 great-grandchildren, Mason Curry, McKinley and Skylar Dixon,Jamaal Scott, Janiya Edge, Harmony and Braxton Aldridge, Jordan,Nolan,Rylee, Savani, and Zaire and Naomi Isreal one Aunt, Emma Craig of Cleveland OH and a host nephews , nieces, cousins, relatives and friends who will cheris her memory. Thelma's life was a tapestry of love, woven with threads of family, friendship, and faith. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was always ready with a warm smile and a comforting word. Her home was a sanctuary where family and friends gathered, drawn by her generous spirit and the warmth that emanated from her heart. In her passing, Thelma leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering devotion to her family and her community will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Thelma's memory, as a tribute to her generous and compassionate nature.
