Thelma Louise Davis

Thelma Louise Davis, affectionately known as "Eise," passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, and kindness. Born on December 21, 1933, in Greeneville, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of Sebe and Dessie Davis. Louise was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her sisters Nellie Elouise Broyles and Janet June Davis, and her brother Carson Lee Davis, who sadly passed shortly after birth. Louise's life was a testament to selflessness and devotion, especially toward her family. She is survived by her devoted nieces and their spouses: Brenda and Eric Hyder, Joyce and Dennis Lamb, and Kathy and Johnny Tarlton. Her great-nieces and nephews, Logan and Carrie Lamb, Hannah and Kyler Jones, and her cherished Zachary Hyder, along with her great-great-nephew, Fisher Lamb, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. A proud graduate of Doak High School, Louise was known for her tireless work ethic. She dedicated 45 years of service at MECO, retiring at the age of 72. Her commitment to her family was unwavering; she worked through her vacation time to provide school clothes and Christmas gifts for her nieces, illustrating the depth of her love and generosity. Even in her later years, Louise took pride in her well-kept yard, continuing to mow it herself until the age of 85. Louise's faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her actions spoke volumes of her love for her Lord and Savior, as she gave generously and selflessly to those around her. Her altruism was quiet and humble, never seeking recognition or praise for her countless acts of kindness. Travel brought joy to Louise's life, with cherished memories of trips to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Johnson City, and Elizabethton. Her love for Dollywood and Dolly Parton was well-known, and family day trips organized by her niece Brenda were among her happiest moments. Those who knew Louise remember her fondly for her warmth and her knack for keeping everyone updated on the weather. Her enduring spirit of sacrifice, nurturing heart, and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Charles Montgomery, Dr. Brody Stringer, Mary Bonham, and the dedicated staff of the 6th floor at JCMC for their compassionate care.
