December 9, 1941 — October 7, 2026

Thelma Jean Musser, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this world on October 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on December 9, 1941, in Geyer, Ohio, Thelma was the beloved daughter of the late Lylah and Carl Minnich. Thelma's early years were spent surrounded by a large and loving family, including her siblings, now predeceased, Evelyn, Mary Catherine, Ruth, Philena, Edith, Barbara, James, Bill, Harry, Robert, Donald, and Joseph. She is survived by her dear brother David Minnich, who holds fond memories of their shared childhood, and many family and friends who loved her. A graduate of Wapakoneta High School's class of 1959, Thelma was known for her quick wit and infectious laughter. It was during these formative years that she met the love of her life, Larry Leroy Musser. The couple married on December 23, 1959, embarking on a journey of 36 wonderful years together. They raised three beautiful children, Darlene Boze (Jeff), Lori Musser, and Jeff Musser (Penny), who were the pride and joy of her life. Thelma's career journey began as a waitress and at Fisher Cheese. She later devoted herself to the most important job of all—being a full-time mother to her children. As her children grew and pursued their education, Thelma returned to the workforce, serving as a school secretary at Centennial Elementary. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike. A devoted member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Thelma found joy in serving her community as a Girl Scout Leader and trainer. Her passion for mentoring and empowering young girls was evident in her commitment and dedication. Thelma's greatest joy came from her family. She adored her grandchildren, Ian Boze (Catelyn), Jordan Boze, Annie Thompson (Ben), and Jared Musser, and cherished every moment spent attending their activities and celebrating their achievements. Her great-grandchild, Owen Boze, held a special place in her heart, bringing her smiles and happiness in her later years. An avid camper, Thelma loved nothing more than gathering her family for outdoor adventures, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her home was always filled with laughter and joy, a testament to her ability to bring people together with her humor and warmth. Thelma's spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to Thelma Jean Musser, we hold in our hearts the joyous memories of a life well-lived and a love that will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she touched. There will be a visitation at Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Highway, Wapakoneta, Ohio Wednesday October 14th 2-4 and 6-8. The funeral will be at 10:30 on Thursday, October 15, with an hour of visitation preceding the funeral.
