Born on November 18, 1949, in the heart of Walterboro, South Carolina, Thelma's life was a beacon of warmth, love, and unwavering spirit.
Thelma was the cherished daughter of Heyward and Donie (Hiers) Warren, who predeceased her, along with her sisters, Sheba Lowery, Barbara Prescott, Daisy Smith, Vesta “Mae” Blocker, her niece Angie Malphrus, and nephew Richard Smith. Her legacy is lovingly carried on by her devoted husband, Bill Bryan, with whom she shared 41 beautiful years of marriage; her daughter, Dena Headley; her treasured grandson, Joshua Headley, and his partner Lee Guess; and her brothers, Ernest “Bubba” Warren and David “Fred” Warren.

In 1992, they returned to Thelma's hometown of Walterboro, where they cultivated a life brimming with love, laughter, and countless precious memories.
An entrepreneurial spirit at heart, Thelma owned a successful cleaning business in Wisconsin before dedicating nearly 22 years to the Tobacco Shop in Walterboro, where she became a cherished presence until her retirement. Her work was only one aspect of her life, as she found immense joy in gardening, nurturing flowers, and creating a vibrant sanctuary at her home. Her porch was a gathering place for laughter and camaraderie, where friends found a warm welcome and a kindred spirit.
Thelma's compassion knew no bounds. Her heart of gold was evident in her readiness to help anyone in need, her infectious laughter lighting up every room she entered, and the joy she found in simple pleasures, like fishing trips with her sister Sheba. Her friendly demeanor and perpetual smile left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Thelma's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the extraordinary nurses, Alana and Robin from Amedisys Hospice, for their exceptional care and comfort during her final days. They are eternally thankful to her husband Bill, whose love was a constant source of happiness, and to her daughter Dena, for her unwavering support and never left her side. Her grandson Josh grew into the man she always dreamed he would be, with the love and support of his girlfriend Lee. Special thanks are extended to her niece Wendy “Shug” Martin and DC for their unwavering love and smiles, and to her nieces Lisa Thomas and Missy Prescott, and nephew Tony Lowery for their steadfast support.
