Thea Juliane Caise
September 19, 1928 — March 17, 2026
On March 17, 2026, the world lost a remarkable soul, Thea Juliane Caise, who passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 19, 1928, in the charming town of Kolberg, Germany, Thea graced this world with 97 years of wisdom, warmth, and kindness.
Thea was the cherished daughter of Kurt and Olga Zarnott (Kalinowski), and she was preceded in death by her beloved husband and all her siblings. Yet, she leaves behind a legacy that continues to shine brightly through her family, including her three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who carry forward her spirit and values.
A woman of remarkable intellect and unwavering convictions, Thea was known for her sharp mind and strong opinions. Her passion for her beliefs was evident in every conversation, and she was never afraid to stand up for what she thought was right. She was a fierce advocate for her causes, particularly those that supported veterans and animals, generously donating her time and resources to the Wounded Warriors and the Humane Society.
Beyond her advocacy, Thea had a heart full of love for children. Her nurturing spirit was a beacon of hope and kindness, often extending her hand to help others in need. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, where she knitted blankets and scarves, not just for her family, but also for donations to those in need, wrapping them in comfort and love.
Thea's zest for life was mirrored in the simple joys she found in knitting, where each stitch was a testament to her patience and creativity. Her creations were not only practical but also infused with a touch of her vibrant personality.
While her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, Thea's legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the causes she championed. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her memory, in accordance with her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Thea's memory to the Humane Society of Saint Clair County, an organization she held dear to her heart. Her passion for helping those without a voice will continue through these contributions, ensuring that her spirit of compassion endures.
Thea Juliane Caise will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and unwavering determination, and her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
May her soul rest in peace.
