Surrounded by her loving family at her home, Thanh's journey ended as gracefully as she lived her life. Thanh was born on September 15, 1938, in the vibrant city of Hanoi, Vietnam. Her life was a testament to resilience, grace, and the boundless pursuit of knowledge. Thanh's academic journey led her to Loma Linda University, where she earned her Medical Doctorate, laying the foundation for a diverse and impactful career. Thanh's professional life was as varied as it was distinguished; she shared her melodious voice as a professional singer, imparted wisdom as a teacher, and provided care and healing as a dedicated physician. Thanh's life was intertwined with the love and support of her family. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Calvin Mehlert. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and perseverance in her son, daughter-in-law, and her cherished grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Thanh's two grandchildren will forever carry forward her spirit of kindness and her unwavering commitment to family. Thanh's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on July 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The service will be held at Lima-Campagna Alameda Mission, located at 600 S Second St, San Jose, CA 95112. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Thanh's remarkable life, sharing stories and memories that honor her enduring impact on those who were fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Thanh Nguyet's memory to a charity of your choice, continuing her legacy of caring and compassion. Thanh will be remembered for her unyielding spirit, her warm heart, and the beautiful harmony she brought into the lives of those around her.
