March 23, 1957 — June 23, 2026

With heavy hearts but fond memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Thad Manning III, affectionately known to many as "Pee Wee" or "Thaddeus J Whoopie." Thad departed this life at his home on June 23, 2026, at the age of 69, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unyielding devotion to his family. Born on March 23, 1957, in the vibrant city of Nashville, TN, Thad was the cherished son of Thad Manning Jr. and Daisy Rambus Manning. Throughout his life, Thad was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes about his character. He professed his faith at an early age, and his spiritual journey was a guiding light throughout his life. For Thad, family was not merely an important aspect of life—it was everything. He brought joy and energy to every gathering, becoming a "dancing machine" who lit up the room with his signature James Brown splits and unique dance moves that never failed to bring smiles to those around him. Thad was predeceased by his father, Thad Manning Jr., and beloved sisters Dolores Grigsby, Latanya, and Wendy Huddleston, as well as his brothers Eric Manning and Michael Charles Fuqua. He also joins his nephews Abraham Awodi, Dais B. Manning, and Terrence J. Grigsby in eternal rest. He is survived by his devoted mother, Idella Manning, who nurtured him with love and strength. Thad leaves behind his sisters Virginia and Carrie Manning, and Lillie, Vanessa, Elise, and Sylvia, who shared countless cherished moments with him. His brothers, Daryl Manning, Howard, and Byron Huddleston, along with Herbert and Paul Fuqua, will forever hold him in their hearts. His niece Chelsea Manning and nephew Michael Grigsby Jr. will fondly remember their beloved uncle. Thad's close and loving friend, Ms. Martha, along with numerous other friends, will deeply miss the warmth and kindness he brought into their lives. Though Thad did not have grandchildren, his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his gentle spirit and infectious joy. His family encourages those who wish to honor his memory to make a donation to a charity of their choice, continuing his legacy of compassion and care for others. In the words of his family, "Thad III was more than a brother, uncle, and friend. He lived and went into eternal life, a life redeemed. His memories leave with us an impression to always be ready when this life stops." A celebration of Thad's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable man who brought light into so many lives. Until then, we hold onto the precious memories and the enduring love Thad shared with all of us. Rest in peace, dear Thad. Your spirit will dance eternally in our hearts.
