January 22, 1977 — May 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tesaland Turner, who departed this life on May 11, 2026, at the age of 49. Tesa, as she was affectionately known, was born on January 22, 1977, in Bay Minette, Alabama, to Lewis B. English and Marion Hunt. Her life, though far too short, was a rich tapestry of love, faith, and unyielding strength. Tesa was baptized at an early age at Union Baptist Missionary Church in her hometown of Bay Minette. Her unwavering faith was nurtured at Live Right Holiness Church under the guidance of her stepfather, Pastor Morgan Hunt. Tesa's spiritual journey was central to her life, providing her with a foundation of hope and resilience that she shared generously with others. Above all, Tesa cherished her family. She was the devoted wife of Gus Turner, who stood by her side through life's joys and challenges. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. Tesa was the proud and loving mother of three sons, Raheem Dailey, Malik Dailey, and Ahmad Dailey, who were her pride and joy. Her two grandchildren, Ava and Nova Dailey, were the lights of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Tesa is survived by her loving mother, Marion Hunt, and a large extended family who will deeply feel her absence. Her siblings, Darren (Derrica) Freeman, John Freeman, Kimbre (Clint) Staples, Tania (Mike) Hunt, Terrie Rudolph, and Angela Evans, shared a bond with Tesa that was both enduring and profound. She was a beloved aunt to nine nieces and three nephews, a great-niece, and two great-nephews, who were all touched by her kindness and warmth. Tesa was predeceased by her father, Lewis B. English, and her grandparents, Buford Mae Stotts, Lemon Rollins, Jimmie, and Alberta Armstead. Though they have passed, the legacy of love and strength they instilled in Tesa lives on through her family. Beyond her family, Tesa's life was enriched by the friendships she held dear. Her devoted friends, Shannon Sayles and Shakethea Lewis, were her confidantes and companions. Tesa's circle extended to a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends, all of whom were touched by her radiant spirit. Tesa had a lifelong passion for song and poetry, often capturing the beauty and complexity of life in her writings. Her words were a reflection of her warm smile and her ability to find light even in the darkest of times. Her strength and perseverance through life's challenges inspired all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many. A service to honor and celebrate Tesa's life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the True Pentecostal Holiness Church, located at 90 Jones St, Atmore, AL 36502. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Tesa are invited to join in remembrance of her remarkable life. Though Tesa has left us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and faith, which will carry her family and friends forward in the days to come. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless lives she enriched with her kindness and grace. Rest in peace, dear Tesa, knowing you are forever loved and never forgotten.
