Terry Wayne Green

February 8, 1963 — July 13, 2026

Terry Wayne Green, a cherished father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on February 8, 1963, in Louisville, Kentucky, Terry was the beloved son of the late Elmer Green and Edna Brietenfeld. He departed this world as he lived his life, surrounded by the love of his family, particularly in the comforting embrace of his daughter, Terri Lea, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Terry's early years were spent in the warm company of his grandparents, Hester and John Mobley, as well as Lizza and Frank Gass, who preceded him in death and surely welcomed him with open arms in the hereafter. He was a proud and devoted father to his children, Terri Lea Vaghn (John), Daniell Don’t (Travis), and Nicole, and a loving grandfather to his precious granddaughter, Laila, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life. Terry served his country with honor and dedication as a member of the United States Army Military Police from 1981 until his honorable discharge in 1987. Upon returning to civilian life, he found his calling in the construction industry, specializing as a fire sprinkler installer. His work took him throughout Largo, Florida, and the surrounding counties, where he was respected for his craftsmanship and strong work ethic. Outside of his professional endeavors, Terry was a man of varied interests and passions. He was an avid sports fan, known for his love of betting on horse races and cheering on his favorite hockey teams with his dear friend Randy in the comfort of his garage. Terry cherished the simple joys of life, such as sharing stories and laughter with his close friends Tracey, Randy, Tommy, and Mr. Jonson, or exchanging his signature "Earl jokes" during calls with his sisters. Terry is survived by his loving siblings, Lisa Ketterer (Rob), Brenda Orlando, Theresa Richardson, Helen Delk-Aldridge (Ed), and Johnnie Green (MaryJo), along with many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his warmth and humor. His extended family and friends will miss his generous spirit and unwavering loyalty. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the BayCare Cancer Center and Hospice Center in Largo, Florida, for the compassionate care and support provided to Terry during his illness. In memory of Terry Wayne Green, the family invites those who wish to honor his legacy to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice or simply engaging in a kind act in his memory. Terry's life was a testament to love, laughter, and resilience, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
