Born on January 9, 1962, in Topeka, Kansas, Terry departed this world on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of his beloved family and friends at home. His life was a tapestry of rich experiences, genuine relationships, and commendable achievements. Terry was the beloved son of the late Irvin and Loretta (Traphagan) Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents, his dear brother Tony, and his sister Beverly (Roberts) Bame. He leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his devoted partner, Julie Vineyard, and his loving brother, Jeff Roberts. A proud graduate of Topeka High School in 1980, Terry furthered his education at Washburn University, earning a Bachelor's degree in 1990 and a Master's degree in Business in 1997. His academic pursuits were a testament to his commitment to personal growth and professional excellence. Terry dedicated 37 years of his career to the U.S. Postal Service, beginning as a clerk and advancing to the role of Purchasing Specialist/Contracting Officer. His journey with the USPS took him to offices in Washington D.C., Greensboro, NC, and finally back to his roots in Topeka, KS, where he retired in January 2023. Throughout his career, Terry was known for his fairness, open-mindedness, and unwavering integrity. He valued diverse perspectives and was a firm believer in the importance of keeping one's word. Outside of his professional life, Terry was a man of many talents and interests. In his high school days, he was an enthusiastic athlete, playing football and participating in track events. His passion for martial arts led him to achieve the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do under Master Cha Sun Yi. A certified advanced diver with NAUI, Terry explored the depths of the Cayman Islands and Mexico, embracing the beauty of the underwater world. In 1989, Terry soared to new heights, earning his Private Pilot license and finding joy in flying his favorite Cessna 172. His competitive spirit shone through in the late nineties as he embraced running, participating in numerous 5K, 10K, and half-marathon events across the United States. Even after undergoing two knee replacements, Terry's love for the outdoors never waned, and he found solace in long walks and trail hikes around Topeka and Lawrence, KS. Terry's life was a beacon of kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His honesty and integrity were unmatched, and his word was as good as a promise fulfilled. He cherished the simple joys in life and valued the time spent with loved ones. Terry's absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit will forever remain a guiding light. May we find comfort in the memories and love he shared with us, and may his journey be as peaceful and fulfilling as the life he lived.
