In Loving Memory of Terry Larson
Terry Larson, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 24, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on June 18, 1947, in Portland, Oregon, Terry was the cherished son of Fred and Patricia Larson. He was a man who lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Terry's early years were spent in Oregon, where he graduated from Vernonia High School in 1965. Shortly thereafter, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the Army and being stationed in Germany. His dedication and service were honored with an honorable discharge in 1970. Returning to civilian life, Terry embarked on a successful career as a computer programmer, a field that allowed him to combine his sharp intellect with his passion for technology.
Terry's professional life was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit, particularly in the successful business venture he shared with his second wife, Shirley. Together, they built a life filled with shared dreams and accomplishments, creating a warm and welcoming home for their blended family. Although Shirley preceded him in death, their loving partnership remains an enduring testament to their commitment and love.
Terry was a man of many interests and hobbies. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially those that connected him with nature. His love for fishing and crabbing was a testament to his appreciation for the great outdoors. Living at the coast for many years, Terry spent countless hours clamming and crabbing, savoring the peacefulness that the ocean offered. Later in life, after moving to Arizona, he discovered a new pastime in gambling at Laughlin, which added a touch of excitement to his days.
Above all, Terry was a man known for his agreeable and fun-loving nature. He was a proud father to his daughter, Tanya Wehage, and her husband Jon. He also welcomed and cherished his stepchildren, Ian and Cory Roberts, as his own. His pride extended to his grandchildren, Clayton Wehage and wife Auria, Cassandra McRae and husband Allen, Gideon Wehage, and Carter Roberts, who were the light of his life. Terry's legacy continues through the next generation, with three great-grandchildren who will grow up hearing stories of their remarkable great-grandfather.
Terry is also survived by his beloved brothers, Dave, Don, Randy, and Dennis, with whom he shared countless memories and an unbreakable bond. He was predeceased by his father, Fred, his sister, Debbie, and his wife, Shirley, all of whom he held dear.
A gathering to celebrate Terry's life will be held on May 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Scout Cabin, located at 901 Park Dr, Vernonia, OR. In lieu of a formal service, the family invites all who knew and loved Terry to come together to share stories, memories, and support one another during this time of remembrance.
Terry Larson's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an enduring spirit. As we come together to honor his memory, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and carry forward the lessons he taught us through his kindness and generosity.
In our hearts, Terry will forever remain, a testament to a life well-lived and a love that endures.
