It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Kaiser, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on May 23, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on January 3, 1944, in Omaha, Nebraska, Terry's journey was marked by love, service, and an enduring connection to nature. Terry was the cherished son of the late Earl and Cora Mabel Kaiser. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Roland Kaiser, and his beloved wife, Viola (Oatis) Kaiser, with whom he shared a beautiful life. Together, Terry and Viola built a family grounded in love and mutual respect, welcoming their two children, Janel and Stefan, into a world enriched by their kindness and values. A man of service, Terry proudly served his country in the US Army, embodying the spirit of dedication and duty. Following his military service, he pursued higher education at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he laid the foundation for a career marked by integrity. Terry's professional journey took him to United Medical Laboratories, where he demonstrated the same care and precision in his work as he did in every other aspect of his life. Eventually, he returned to the welcoming embrace of Anita, Iowa, where he continued to nurture his passions and relationships. A true naturalist at heart, Terry found profound joy in the simplicity and beauty of the natural world. His love for gardening and grafting fruit trees was well-known throughout Cass County. It is said that there wasn’t a fruit tree along the road that hadn’t been touched by his green thumb, a testament to his gentle stewardship of the earth. Terry is survived by his loving children, Janel Kaiser and Stefan Kaiser (Crystal Kaiser); his adored grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by his wisdom and warmth; his sister, Donna Beltz Kaiser; brother, David Kaiser and his wife; and sister, Mary Christensen (Frank Christensen). Each of them carries a piece of Terry's legacy in their hearts and lives. To honor Terry's life and the profound impact he made on all who knew him, a service will be held on May 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Atlantic Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 2409 E 7th St, Atlantic, IA 50022. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived, to share stories, and to celebrate the remarkable man who touched so many lives. As we say goodbye to Terry, we are reminded of the gentle, enduring love he sowed in his lifetime—love that will continue to bloom in the hearts of those he left behind. His legacy of kindness, service, and connection to nature will forever be cherished and remembered.
