It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Elias-Thomas, who left this world peacefully on September 15, 2026, in the gentle care of hospice following a large stroke. Born on December 12, 1960, in Denver, CO, Terry lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to those she cherished most. Terry was the beloved daughter of Barbara Atkins and the late George Elias. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Barry Thomas, with whom she shared 14 wonderful years of marriage. They celebrated their love with adventures on motorcycles and cherished camping trips at NASCAR races. Her first husband, Joseph Sorrells, also preceded her in death. A proud graduate of Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, MD, Terry earned an Associate's Degree in Nursing and devoted her career to private pediatric nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life, as she was renowned for her generosity and kindness, always offering a helping hand and an open heart to those in need. Terry's family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Sewell Crossan, who was her pride and joy. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Nate and Alex, who were the light of her life. Her sister, Cathy Hubbert, also survives her, holding dear the memories of a lifetime shared. In her leisure, Terry found solace in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for sewing, taking road trips, and enjoying sunny days at the beach. Her grandsons were her constant companions in joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. An avid reader, Terry loved losing herself in the world of Danielle Steele novels, and she often found peace in the challenge of a good puzzle, Sudoku book, or cross-stitch project. Terry's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the LVAD team at Christiana Care and the Hospice team for their unwavering support and exceptional care over the past three years. Their patience and dedication made a significant difference in Terry's journey, and the family is forever grateful for their kindness. A private funeral service will be held to honor Terry's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Terry's memory. Terry Elias-Thomas was a beacon of love and compassion, whose warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family and friends.
