Terry Dean Boone

October 7, 1945 — June 7, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Dean Boone, a devoted family man and cherished friend, on June 7, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on October 7, 1945, in Howard, Kansas, Terry was the beloved son of Walter and Dreva Boone. He was a remarkable individual whose life was a testament to hard work, devotion, and love. Terry's early years were shaped in the small town of Howard, where he graduated from Howard High School in 1963. He carried the values of integrity and dedication learned in his formative years into his professional life, spending an impressive 45 years in the aircraft industry. Terry began his career in upholstery at Cessna before joining Boeing, where he took immense pride in contributing to the creation of Air Force One. His meticulous craftsmanship and passion for his work left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the industry. Though he was a dedicated worker, Terry's true legacy lies in the warmth and love he shared with those around him. A man who always made you feel welcome, Terry's heart was an open door. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Peggy, with whom he shared 57 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a family founded on love and shared experiences. Terry was a treasured father to Terry Boone Jr. and Michelle Boone, who carry forward his values and spirit. His five grandchildren—Phillip Boone, Lauren Ruland, Courtney Boone, and Melissa Ashley—were the light of his life, and their fond memories of time spent with their grandpa will forever be cherished. Terry was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren—Brandon, Daniel, Jewell, Brynley, Tatum, Ledger, and Kayson—each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. Terry's legacy of love extends to his surviving siblings, sister Betty Loyd and her husband Larry, and sister Sandy Swingle, as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Although he is predeceased by his parents, his brother Donnie Ray, his sister Joyce Cass, and his grandson Brandon Boone, the memories he created with them will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. Terry was a man whose presence was felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support as a husband, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, and uncle will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. A service to honor and celebrate Terry's life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Shinkle Mortuary in Haysville, Kansas. Friends and family are invited to gather and share in the remembrance of a truly special man who touched so many lives with his gentle spirit and loving heart. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Terry's memory, continuing his legacy of caring and kindness.
