August 28, 1968 — September 5, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terrell Jefferson, a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved brother, and treasured friend. Terrell departed this life on September 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and generosity that touched all who knew him. Terrell was born on August 28, 1968, in New York to Vernon and Mary Jefferson, who have predeceased him. He grew up in a loving home, surrounded by his siblings Boby, Kim, Daryl, Vernique, Derek, and Nicey. It was in this nurturing environment that Terrell developed the kindness and empathy that would define his life. On March 22, 2013, Terrell married the love of his life, Heather Nelson, in Leesburg, Virginia. Their union was blessed with six wonderful children: Terrell Michael, Alicia, JaShaun, Khi, Trejan, and Nacaiah, who were the pride and joy of his life. Terrell also leaves behind his cherished grandson, Lucas, who brought immense happiness to his later years. For the past sixteen years, Terrell dedicated his professional life to the Salvation Army in Leesburg. Known for his unwavering generosity, he always found time to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate. Even on his days off, Terrell would assist community members in need, expecting nothing in return. His work was not just a job but a calling, one that he embraced with passion and dedication. Although Terrell did not regularly attend services, he accompanied his mother to the Kingdom Hall for many years, attended the Passover service annually, and found solace in reading his Bible regularly. His faith was a quiet but steadfast presence in his life. Beyond his commitments, Terrell had a zest for life that was contagious. He was an avid fan of Formula One Racing, and nothing brought him more joy than watching his sons play soccer. Sundays were reserved for fishing trips with his son JJ, creating memories that will be cherished forever by his family. Terrell's heart was as vast as his smile, known for his incredible kindness and willingness to help anyone in need. His family was his world, and he was always quick to put their needs before his own, providing them with unwavering love and support. A celebration of Terrell's life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, located at 201 Edwards Ferry Rd., Leesburg, VA 20176. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in Terrell's honor. Terrell Jefferson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
