Terrance Posch, affectionately known to many as "Terry" and lovingly called "Grampa Bear" by his grandchildren, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was 86 years old. Terry was born on May 22, 1940, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Edward and Elvera Posch (née Haikonen).
Growing up in the heart of Duluth, Terry developed a deep love for the outdoors, a passion he carried with him throughout his life. He often spoke fondly of his childhood adventures, exploring the beautiful landscapes of Minnesota with his siblings and friends. His adventurous spirit and love for nature were traits he cherished and shared with his own children and grandchildren.
Terry was a devoted father to his children, Cherie,Ted, and Tim, and a cherished grandfather to his two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He found immense joy in spending time with family.
Terry's life was marked by love, laughter, and resilience. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Edward and Elvera, as well as several cherished family members, including his in-laws, brother Bob,grandson Cordel,daughter-in-law Deanne, brothers-in-law Ted, Jim, Charlie,ex-wife and mother of his children, Jean,several aunts,uncles,cousins.Special friend and partner Arlene. Despite the losses he faced, Terry maintained a spirit of kindness and generosity that touched everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving children, Cherie (Dave), Ted, and Tim, as well as his dear sisters, Jan Martin and Karen Lambert. His legacy of love and strength will continue to live on through his family and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Terry's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude . In honor of Terry's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Terry's generous spirit and his lifelong commitment to helping others.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to share stories, remember his kindness, and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
