It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Terrance Lamar Simms, who departed this life on March 20, 2026, at the tender age of 24. Born on August 8, 2001, in the close-knit community of Youngstown, Ohio, Terrance was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew him. Terrance was the cherished son of Terrance L. Simms and the late Tanisha B. Robbins. He was a loving son who brought joy and laughter into their lives with his infectious smile and gentle spirit. Though Tanisha predeceased him, her love and values continued to shine through him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone around him. Growing up in Youngstown, Terrance was known for his vibrant energy and compassionate heart. He attended local schools, where he excelled academically, and was deeply involved in sports, especially basketball—a passion he inherited from his father. His teammates and coaches fondly remember his dedication, sportsmanship, and the genuine camaraderie he shared with everyone on and off the court. Terrance was not only an athlete but also a gifted artist, expressing himself through music and drawing. His creativity knew no bounds, and he had an incredible ability to translate his emotions and experiences into art that resonated with many. His artistic talents were a testament to his unique perspective on life and his ability to find beauty in the world around him. Terrance’s life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and community. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or simply a kind word when it was needed most. His friends remember him as someone who uplifted them in their darkest moments and celebrated with them in their happiest times. Though his time with us was far too short, Terrance’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family, including his devoted father, Terrance L. Simms, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, will forever cherish his memory and the indelible mark he left on their lives. A celebration of Terrance’s life will be held at a later date to honor the wonderful person he was and the extraordinary impact he had on those he met. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local youth arts program in Youngstown, in remembrance of Terrance’s passion for art and his desire to inspire future generations. Terrance Lamar Simms will be remembered as a loving son, a talented artist, and a true friend. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all, reminding us of the beauty of life and the importance of sharing love and kindness with one another. Rest in peace, dear Terrance.
