It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Terrance Lamar Charles, lovingly known as "Doobie," on July 24, 2026, at the age of 36. Born on June 6, 1990, in Dayton, Ohio, Terrance was a cherished son, devoted husband, beloved father, and a friend to many. Terrance was the beloved son of Gerry Jones and Terry L. Charles. He was predeceased by his only sister Nashawn and his six brothers: Anthony, Dreandre, NaJaun, Terrance (Latress), Terry, and Telvin. Terrance's life was woven with the threads of family, friendship, and an unwavering love for those around him. He is survived by his loving wife, Shadonna Battle-Charles, with whom he shared a beautiful journey. Terrance and Shadonna first met in June 2021, and their friendship blossomed into a deep and enduring love. Eight months into their friendship, they decided to date, and on June 19, 2024, Terrance proposed, filling his heart with joy. On their wedding day, Terrance’s excitement was palpable as he stood ready with his bright smile and dimples, eager to begin a new chapter with Shadonna. Terrance was a devoted father to his daughter, Bella (Ty Eash), and a caring stepfather to Terra (Cardell), Jerraca, Curtis, and Deangelo. His love for his family extended to his cherished grandchild, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. A proud graduate of Dunbar High School in Dayton, Ohio, Terrance found his calling as a barber, a profession he pursued with passion and dedication. Known for his skillful hands and generous spirit, Terrance loved cutting hair and bringing smiles to his clients' faces. Beyond his career, he found immense joy in being outdoors and had an unwavering love for children, who he cherished dearly. Terrance was a man of deep emotions and strong familial bonds. He held a special connection with his little brother, Dreandre, who, despite being the youngest, was his greatest role model. Terrance's love for his family knew no bounds, and he often expressed his admiration and affection for them with sincerity and warmth. A memorial service to honor and celebrate Terrance's life will be held on August 14, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Donald Jordan Funeral Home, located at 4882 Germantown Pike, Dayton, Ohio. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown support during this devastating time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Terrance Lamar Charles. The family wishes to express a special message to all: "I would like to thank everybody who came out to support Terrance's family at this devastating time. I pray we all think before we make decisions that could hurt another family." Terrance’s legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
