TERI ELIZABETH WRIGHT

June 20, 1958 — June 27, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Teri Elizabeth Wright, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. Teri took her final breath on June 27, 2026, at the age of 68, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and love that will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Born on June 20, 1958, in Corning, NY, Teri was the cherished daughter of John and Nina Drozda (Burton). As a young girl, she grew up in a household filled with love and laughter, alongside her brothers Michael, John Richard, and Gary Drozda. She carried the values instilled in her by her parents throughout her life, values that she later passed down to her daughter, Misty Wright, who survives her. Teri's bond with her family was unwavering, and the memories they shared will be treasured forever. Teri was a proud graduate of Corning-Painted Post East High School, class of 1976. Shortly after, she served her country with pride in the United States Air Force. Her career then took her to Corning Inc. and World Kitchens, where she spent many years working diligently, forming lifelong friendships with her colleagues. In 2008, Teri married the love of her life, Peter Barton, on September 25th. Their union was a source of joy and companionship, and they shared many happy years together until Peter's passing in 2017. Teri found love and companionship once again with Marcus McHenry, who stood by her side, offering support and love during her final years. Teri had a passion for sewing and a deep love for animals, hobbies that brought her immense joy and peace. Her creativity and compassion were evident in the beautiful garments she crafted and the affection she bestowed upon her furry companions. She was a gentle soul who found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Her surviving family includes her devoted daughter, Misty Wright, and her spouse Marcus McHenry, as well as her brother Gary Drozda. Teri also leaves behind her stepson Brett Barton, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom held a special place in her heart. In her lifetime, Teri was predeceased by her parents, John and Nina, her brothers Michael and John Richard, and her beloved husband, Peter. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Arnot and Walter J. Kent Funeral Home for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time. Their kindness has been a beacon of comfort. A celebration of Teri's life will be held in the coming days, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived and a heart well-loved. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter in Teri's memory, a tribute to her enduring love for animals. May Teri Elizabeth Wright rest in eternal peace, forever remembered with love and gratitude.
