In Loving Memory

Teresa Owens
August 30, 1972 — September 27, 2026
Teresa Owens, born on August 30, 1972, in Wabash, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, due to natural causes. Teresa was a vibrant soul with a heart full of love and laughter that touched everyone around her. She was the beloved daughter of Beverlie Fortner and Terry Martin, who have both predeceased her.
Teresa grew up in Wabash and graduated from Manchester High School with the class of 1991. In 1994, she married David Applegate and together they welcomed three wonderful sons into the world: Matthew, Nathan (alongside his wife Bri), and Zachery Applegate. Teresa and David later parted ways in 2003, but she continued to focus her energy on raising her sons with boundless love and dedication.
Teresa's life was defined by her commitment to caring for others. She spent many years working in various nursing homes and at McDonald's, always ensuring that those around her felt supported and valued. Her nurturing nature was evident in every aspect of her life, particularly in her role as a grandmother. She adored her four grandsons, Brantley, Briggs, Beau, and Issac, and cherished every moment spent with them.
Her family was the center of her universe, and she never missed an opportunity to create precious memories with them. Whether it was crafting with her best friend Daphne, cheering passionately for the Chicago Bears, or embarking on spontaneous girl day trips with her cousin Melissa and Aunt Laura, Teresa lived life with enthusiasm and joy.
Teresa was known for her loud and unapologetic personality, often speaking her mind without hesitation. Her candid nature and vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her children, Matthew, Nathan and his wife Bri, and Zachery; her grandchildren, Brantley, Briggs, Beau, and Issac; and her sister, Kim Baker. They will forever hold her in their hearts as they continue to celebrate her remarkable life.
