Teresa Maureen Steer Hutson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Teresa Maureen Steer Hutson, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, who departed this life on March 15, 2026, after a valiant battle with cancer. Teresa was born on June 9, 1958, in the vibrant city of Seattle, where her journey through life began, surrounded by the love of her parents, Margaret and Joseph Steer.
Teresa was a shining light to all who knew her. Her life was marked by a profound dedication to her family, her career, and her passions. She was predeceased by her cherished parents, her brother John Steer, nephew Mike Coffey, sister-in-law Sheri Steer, and brother-in-law Ernie Coffey. She is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Pete Hutson, who stood by her side through thick and thin, bringing warmth and love to her life.
Teresa is also lovingly remembered by her brother Mike Steer; sisters Helen Coffey, Patricia Kessler, and Liz Peake (Steve); and her many nieces and nephews, including two beloved great-nieces, who were the joy of her life. Her family was her anchor, and she was theirs, offering loyalty, laughter, and undivided attention to each and every one of them.
A proud alumna of Queen Anne High School, Teresa furthered her education with a business degree from the University of Washington, followed by an MBA from Seattle University. Her career began at Steltex Company, but it was at Boeing where her talents truly soared, leaving an indelible mark on her colleagues and the industry.
Teresa's life was enriched by her many hobbies and interests, with gardening being a particular passion. She spent countless hours creating a sanctuary of beauty and tranquility in her garden, a testament to her patience and love for nature. An avid reader, she found solace and joy within the pages of her favorite books, often sharing insights with those around her.
Her personality was a tapestry of wit and warmth. Teresa possessed a wicked sense of humor that could lighten any moment and bring smiles to faces even during the toughest times. Her courage and resilience were truly inspiring, especially as she faced health challenges with a strength that never wavered. Her loyalty to friends was unwavering, and she had the remarkable gift of making everyone feel valued and heard.
In accordance with Teresa's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the surgical team at University of Washington Hospital for their incredible care and personal interest in Teresa, which brought comfort to her and her loved ones.
Though Teresa has left this world, her spirit will forever be a guiding light for those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her laughter, love, and courage will continue to echo in our hearts, reminding us of the beautiful life she led and the lives she touched.
