In Loving Memory

Theodore (Ted) Alden Hoff
December 14, 1939 — August 31, 2026
Theodore "Ted" Alden Hoff, a cherished soul and inspiring presence, passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on December 14, 1939, in Portland, Oregon, Ted was the beloved first child of Arthur and Helen Hoff, whose values, art, exploration, and love shaped the man he would become.
Ted's early years in Portland were marked by curiosity and a love for learning, qualities that he carried with him throughout his life. A proud graduate of Benson High School, Ted went on to pursue higher education with vigor and dedication, eventually shaping a career that would leave a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Ted was more than just his professional accomplishments. His life was a tapestry woven with threads of music, art, story telling, humor, and an endless capacity for adventure. Ted had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, listening intently and offering support whenever it was needed.
Family was at the heart of Ted's life. He cherished the time spent with his loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories that would be fondly remembered by all. Although Ted was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Helen Hoff, his sister Kathleen Hoff, and Chuck Hoff, his legacy of love and generosity lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
Ted's passions extended beyond family. He was an ardent lover of nature, often finding peace and inspiration in the great outdoors. Whether hiking through the lush forests of Oregon or simply enjoying playing his piano, Ted found beauty in the world around him and shared that appreciation with everyone he met.
While we mourn the loss of a remarkable man, we also celebrate the incredible life he led. Ted Hoff's legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched, and his memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration.
