August 8, 2000 — April 23, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tawanda Galloway, who departed this life peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on April 23, 2026. Born on August 8, 2000, in Syracuse, New York, Tawanda was a radiant presence who touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering spirit.
Tawanda was the beloved daughter of Rochelle Reese and Andrew Halsell Jr. Her family was her life’s greatest joy, and she was a devoted mother to her cherished son, Kyree S. Dugger, who was the light of her life. Tawanda leaves behind her grandmother, Katie Reese, her mother, Rochelle Reese, and a large, loving family comprising 13 brothers and sisters, all of whom will deeply feel her absence. Her cherished partner of two years, Lucas West, stood by her side, providing unwavering support and love.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Mattie Scott, and her great-grandfather, Fred Reese. Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with them in peace.
A proud graduate of PSLA at Fowler High School, Tawanda continued her education at Southern New Hampshire University, where she pursued her passions with determination and grace. Her thirst for knowledge and dedication to self-improvement inspired those around her.
Tawanda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. As an active member of Bethany Baptist Church, she served with enthusiasm and commitment in various auxiliaries, including the Jr. Usher Board, Youth Choir, and AB Girls. Her warm spirit and dedication made her a beloved member of the church community, where she brought joy and inspiration to all who knew her.
Tawanda's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith. Her presence uplifted everyone she encountered, and her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, who will celebrate her life with gratitude for the time they shared.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Tawanda's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to Bethany Baptist Church’s youth programs, ensuring that Tawanda's spirit of giving continues to support the community she loved so dearly.
Though Tawanda's time with us was brief, the impact of her life was profound. Her memory will forever be cherished, and she will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
