It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of TaShawn Strong, who departed this life on July 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. TaShawn was born on August 28, 1970, in Compton, California, and lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and immeasurable strength. TaShawn's early years were spent in the vibrant community of Compton, where she attended Bursh Elementary School and Enterprise Middle School. She graduated from Blair High School in Pasadena, California, in 1988. Though she was a proud graduate of Blair High, Compton High School always held a special place in her heart, and she cherished being an honorary Compton High alumnus. With a passionate spirit and a gifted touch, TaShawn embarked on a career as a beautician. Her talent and dedication brought joy and confidence to many. Later, she transitioned into the field of healthcare, where her nurturing nature and commitment to service left a lasting impact on countless lives. TaShawn's life was a testament to love, resilience, and family. She was a devoted daughter to her mother, Deborah, and her stepfather, Sam. Her pride and joy were her beloved children, Tashara, Portrett, and Malik, and she found immense happiness in her role as a grandmother to Nash, Demi, Blayk, and her yet-to-arrive grandchild. Her siblings, nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins were an integral part of her life, and she cherished each moment spent with her extended family. TaShawn was predeceased by a host of cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins who welcomed her with open arms in the heavenly realms. A celebration of TaShawn's life will be held on August 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Crenshaw United Methodist Church, located at 3740 Don Felipe Dr, Los Angeles, CA, 90008. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor the beautiful legacy she leaves behind, a legacy filled with love, laughter, and unwavering courage. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of TaShawn to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and dedication to helping others. TaShawn Strong's light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her enduring love and strength will forever be remembered and cherished.
