It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tasha Cunningham, a beloved daughter, mother, partner, and friend, who left us far too early on July 17, 2026, at the tender age of 23. Born on September 9, 2002, in Chicago, Illinois, Tasha's life, though brief, was filled with love, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to those she cherished. Tasha was the cherished daughter of Katrina and Earl Cunningham, who will forever hold her memory close. She is survived by her adored son, Jordan, who resides in Chicago, IL, and her devoted longtime boyfriend of 15 years, Terrence. Her parents, alongside her close cousins—Shree, Shanta, Shamika, and Shana, who were more like sisters to her—and numerous other family members who held a special place in her heart, will continue to celebrate the warmth and joy she brought into their lives. A graduate of Malcolm X College in 2011, Tasha pursued a career in nursing, a calling that perfectly aligned with her nurturing spirit. For 15 years, she dedicated herself to serving at Saint Mary Hospital, where her patients and colleagues alike were touched by her kindness and her infectious smile. Tasha had an innate ability to uplift those around her, always ensuring that no one felt alone or without hope. Her passion for her work was evident in every conversation, as she often spoke about her patients with genuine affection and concern. Preceded in death by her grandmother and auntie, Tasha now joins them in eternal peace. Her family and friends take solace in knowing that she is surrounded by love on her next journey. Tasha's quick, warm spirit and her eagerness to help anyone in need will be deeply missed. Her presence brought light to even the darkest of days, and her legacy of compassion and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tasha's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her lifelong dedication to helping others. Though Tasha's time with us was tragically short, her impact was immeasurable.
