With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tanya Hoffman, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully too soon on July 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Born on February 27, 1969, in Macksville hospital, Tanya was a beacon of light and strength, whose life was a testament to resilience and love.
Tanya was the cherished daughter of Margaret and John Francis Hoffman, who have both predeceased her. She was the youngest among her siblings, Kim, Tony, and Glen, and the proud single mother of three children: Yazzystar in 2005, Dominic in 2004, and Kandis in 1996. She is also survived by her six-month-old grandchild, whom she adored but tragically did not have the opportunity to fully embrace. Tanya is lovingly remembered by her family, friends and her devoted four legged family companion sassy, who was always by her side. Her legacy continues through her children and the new generation and light she helped bring into the world.
Growing up in the vibrant community of Nambucca Heads, Tanya attended the local public school and went on to graduate from Macksville High and Armidale University, where she achieved numerous academic accolades. Her thirst for knowledge and passion for learning were truly inspiring, yet her accomplishments were too many to enumerate.
Tanya's career was as diverse as it was fulfilling. She worked behind a bar in Wollongong and , where she not only poured drinks but also poured her warmth and kindness into the hearts of many, making lifelong friends and cherished memories. Her professional journey didn’t stop there, as she explored various other career opportunities, always eager to learn and grow.
A devout member of the Catholic faith, Tanya's spirituality was an integral part of her life, guiding her through both joyous and challenging times. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel to Japan in her youth with friends, where she created memories that she cherished throughout her life.
Those who knew Tanya will remember her unmistakable presence marked by her big cheeky and pleasing smile. She was a woman who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her generous heart and unwavering dedication to friends and family made her a support of strength and comfort to those around her. She had an uncanny ability to light up any room with her laughter and infectious energy.
Tanya's love for life was matched only by her love for her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones, and she was a constant source of support and encouragement. She had a special fondness for VB, and in her memory, we invite those who knew her to raise a glass in her honor.
one of mum's favorite quotes was one she lived by and wanted to leave behind, it reminds us that even in life's hardest moments we always have a choice-to give up or to find the strength to keep going
